Akash Ghai

Akash has detailed experience in assessing the impact of business support operations, corporate governance and strategic planning on program delivery and organizational development. Akash places emphasis on building a strong organizational structure for NGOs so they can deliver quality programs that help their beneficiaries while maintaining financial sustainability. He has extensive International Relations experience and is a highly effective information analyst.

Akash runs The NGO Snippets (@NGOSnippets), an information resource for NGO professionals to understand or refresh themselves on the basics of the NGO and NPO environments. Previously he worked for the Commonwealth Secretariat in London, an intergovernmental organization. Akash worked in the Corporate Services Division as Head of Office to the Director of Corporate Services and Business Support Functions: Finance, IT, Facilities, Conference Services and Printing. He has a Masters in NGO Management from Cass Business School in London.


Annie Agle

Annie currently leverages her experience in international development, non-profit management, and business to offer consultation assistance to organizations looking to improve their program structure and effectiveness. As the former Deputy Director of the Phyllis Chesler Organization, a leading women’s rights organization with a focus in the Middle East, Annie understands the difficulties NGOs and NPOs face as businesses and social justice providers.

Following her Deputy Directorship, Annie was the Director of Business Development at Hanuman Capital, a social innovation financial firm. In that role, Annie designed two social startup accelerators, consulted with the State of New Jersey with regards to Social Impact Bond (or pay-for-success) programs, and helped various non-profits implement more sustainable budgeting and revenue streams. Annie remains active in the development world as a consultant, board member, and adviser. She is a graduate of Columbia University.


Devon Malcolm
Montreal, QC, Canada 

Devon has strong background in International Development Management, focusing his efforts in structural development and implementation of a plethora of projects. He has worked in variety of fields including health, education, environment and social entrepreneurship.

Devon is now based in Montreal working for SK Pacific as an Admissions Coordinator. He recently returned from working with a dedicated team, in Moshi, Tanzania building a consultancy called Zana Consulting, under Anza International. The consultancy provides services for social enterprises and organizations active both locally and internationally. The small team constructed over fifteen services, an entire consultancy framework, and actively worked with clients in the Canadian and East African context. Previously, Devon was the Project Officer for Femme International creating the first implemented Boys Health Program.

Devon completed his studies at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario receiving a B.Sc. in Life Sciences and a post graduate certificate in International Development Management at Humber College in Toronto.

Sandra Dyal
CSR Consultant

Sandra has over ten years of experience working in the academic, private industry and government sectors and leverages her knowledge and experience to coordinate client initiatives in support of quality assurance and international development projects, missions and goals. She is a Certified Manager of Quality/ Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) obtained through the American Society for Quality, holds a M.Sc. in Food Science and Technology from the University of Alberta and is currently completing the Certificate in International Development from the University of British Columbia.

Sandra’s professional background includes developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems including those regulated under ISO 17025, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), the Natural Health Products Directorate (NHPD), and Health Canada’s Food and Drugs Act. She was the Logistical Coordinator during the launch year of Alberta Education’s Student Engagement Initiative which was formed in response to a statement made in the February 2008 Throne Speech to give Alberta youth a voice in their education. She also performed regulatory testing as a microbiology technologist for Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development’s (AARD) Food Safety Division and produced microbial-based vaccines as a production and quality technologist for the Saskatchewan Research Council’s (SRC) Biomanufacturing division. Her most recent role included the implementation and coordination of a new University of Manitoba (U of M) fee-for- service initiative that aims to partner the expertise and capabilities of the university with the interest and needs of industry, government, and other academic researchers in support of the U of M’s Office of VP Research and International.


Sumeet Sandhu

Sumeet understands the impact that a well communicated and intelligently designed service offering can have when it comes to reaching people and building successful relationships.

After completing law school in England and mastering and practising in medical law, he recognised that the digital space occupied by private and third sector organisations was full of questionable design and communication practices. Reassessing where his passions lay, he committed himself to career in marketing.

Since then he transcended his own expectations when he started consulting for the public sector. As a result he has built a diverse portfolio of work that includes end to end execution of marketing projects and campaigns, including ideation, creation of collaterals, distribution of collaterals in various media and measurement and analysis of impact, SEO, email and funnel campaigns and active management of digital services.

Sumeet has used his experience to lead by example by helping build out D3’s own social project, Founding Stories.


Claudia Blackman

Claudia is a recent college graduate with a passion for service. She acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Susquehanna University in 2014. Whilst at university she was able to actively pursue her volunteer efforts in through the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity as well as other intermittent service projects.

Since graduating, Claudia has continued her volunteer efforts with several NYC and northern NJ based nonprofits. Claudia has extensive experience with international travel and looks forward to working with the international business sector in her future endeavors. She aims to gain a wide-range of experience within the nonprofit sector and understand how it operates.
